Hockey Things: What Caught Our Eye (August 1 Edition)
The Backstreet Blue Jackets Made Their Debut
This is one hell of a crossover.
In a fun exhibition contest last week, members of the Columbus Blue Jackets played in an exhibition softball game with the Backstreet Boys, with Jack Roslovic, Sean Kuraly, and color analyst and Jackets alumni Jean-Luc Grande Pierre suiting up.
We might need more pop culture/hockey mixups like this in the future.
The Lundqvist Brothers Band Reunites
Lundqvist has always been one of the more hockey personalities in the game. During this off-season, Henrik and his brother Joel, the captain of Frolunda HC of the SHL, had a bit of a reunion, but not on the ice this time.
Musical ability has always been something Henrik has been known for, so seeing the two of them put on a show isn't anything unusual.
We need these two on tour ASAP, even if the pair didn't rate their own performance that highly.
Jake Guentzel's Lake Knowledge Is Put To The Test
Jake Guentzel probably didn't think his lake knowledge would be tested in between games of Da Beauty League games in Edina, MN, but that happened this past week.
When in doubt, honesty is always the best play. To be fair to Guentzel, if he tried to name every single one, there's over 10,000, so good luck.
